Josh is DURO Health’s Chief Operations Officer.
Josh graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and went on to complete their Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program in 2007. He finished a post-doctorate degree in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy in 2016 and is a Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopedics, Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic and Manual Physical Therapy, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA.
Josh spent the first part of his career in private practice focusing on furthering his understanding of orthopedic and sports physical therapy. His certifications include a Diploma in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (McKenzie Method), Certification in Selective Functional Movement Assessment, a Certification in Functional Movement Screening, Instrument assisted soft tissue therapy through Astym, Certification in Fundamental Capacity Screening, Dry Needling, Y-Balance testing, and Blood flow restriction therapy. He is a USAW Olympic Weightlifting Coach and a Strong First Kettlebell Instructor. During his time in private practice, he went on to become an owner in his practice and grew his company to five clinical locations, while also becoming more involved in the McKenzie Institute USA.
Josh is a faculty member for the McKenzie Institute International in which he teaches courses on the management of orthopaedic injuries and the application of MDT to the Athlete both nationally and internationally. He is the Program Director for the MIUSA Orthopaedic Residency Program and a mentor for the MIUSA Orthopaedic Fellowship Program. In addition to teaching, he is also a researcher with multiple published peer reviewed articles.
Since being with DURO he has served as a tactical physical therapist embedded with a special operations squadron and the Director of Human Performance and Clinical Education for all employees at DURO Health within the Special Warfare Division of the United States Air Force.
